Garcia is joined by Harry Belafonte, James Whitmore, Ray Walston, Robert Prosky, Milo O'Shea, Daniel Morrissey and Kate Nelligan as his Supreme Court colleagues. And to make matters more dramatic, the deciding "swing vote" just may be held by its newest member Michael Kirkland, portrayed with appropriate intensity by Andy Garcia in his first role for television. The Supreme Court ponders the legality of an Alabama law that would treat abortion as first-degree murder. Wade has been overturned and abortion has been made illegal. Set in the near future, this speculative drama imagines a day when Roe vs. ![]() From the first notes of the lush, mournful and ponderous musical score, you know "Swing Vote" (9 p.m., ABC, TV-14) is a very, very serious movie. ![]()
